Did you get to meet your exchange partners and things just clicked? Were they extra attentive in their communications? Did they perhaps leave you great tips of things to do and places to see?
Let’s share our best exchange experiences and inspire each other! 
Thank you, @Meladeleite! It’s good to remember good experiences! I think the best moment for us was when we went to Spain and travelled to Valencia for just one day, in order to meet a family we have hosted a year before! It was then we felt very close and very lucky to have made new friends! They waited for us and hosted us just for one night, sharing a room and taking us out to dinner, as if we were friends for years! Kids loved that feeling!
Oh, that sounds like the best! It’s not always possible, but I love it when we get the chance to meet the people we exchange homes with. Sometimes the connection is immediate, the conversation flows and it feels like we’re old friends!
I can’t just pick one - but we have a family in Costa Rica that we have exchanged with multiple times. It feels like a second home now. Their neighbors know us and have loaned us their barbecues and taken us on their special hikes. It feels like we are staying with family. They live an hour away and come and visit on the weekends. They are just so friendly and willing to help it makes the experience so magical.
