Iām in charge of press relations at HomeExchange. For a future press release, weāre looking for homes on the platform that resemble iconic locations from famous movies or TV shows!
For example:
An apartment reminiscent of the one in āFriendsā
A house reminiscent of ā7th Heaven"
A chalet reminiscent of Christmas moviesā¦
Have you ever swapped homes that looked like they came straight off the screen? Or do you have a house or apartment on HomeExchange that could fit into this category?
Weād love to hear from you and find out more about these unique listings. Donāt hesitate to share your experiences or give us links to the relevant listings.
Thanks in advance for sharing, and talk to you soon!
We stayed at a quintessential SF rowhouse this year through HE, I canāt name a specific movie but Iām sure there are many that feature this type of home
Hi Jessica,
Is this for a US-audience focused HE press release? I am guessing yes as Iāve never cared to watch Friends and have never heard of 7th Heaven. Seems like very American-centric cultural references ā¦
Those tv shows were hit in Europe too, especially Friends, really one of the best sitcom ever for almost everyone you should watch it
Iām in France and those 2 shows were broadcasted for years on TV
But thatās not really the point, is it?
It remains suggestive of American cultural imperialism.
The point is, who is your audience, and what is the message? Itās a press release, right? Is pop culture the focus, Emily in Paris maybe?
I can send you ancestral homes reminiscent of Maria Chapdelaine. I can send you Victorian cottages as quaint as in Anne of Green Gables (to attract Japanese tourists).
But who is the audience, is it US-based? Who are we trying to entice, and entice them to travel where, or just to travel period?
I donāt know the details but what I meant was Friends was a cult show even here in France (5 millions of Watchers every day in France was a huge score). Itās not only an American show, it was a Worldwide famous show, a global reference
Hello Denis_et_Andre and Etienne, thank you very much for your feedback!
Yes, we want to highlight film/series homes that speak to the general public, hence the mention of Friends. Emily in Paris is also a great idea, of course.
Then, for Maria Chapdelaine, Iād be delighted to receive links to the homes youāre thinking of. We could definitely do a press release mixing traditional and more modern content.
On the target audience: weād like to send out an international press release - the same content will be sent (translated into the right language) to the eight countries in which we communicate to journalists: France, Spain, USA, UK, Canada, Netherlands, Italy, Germany.
I hope thatās clearer!
Thank you very much,
Jessica
