Hey everyone! I’m Luis and this is my wonderful wife, Irma. We’ve been happily married for 47 years now. Our cozy coastal home is nestled in the beautiful Florida Keys, USA ( key Largo) wanted to warmly welcome all of you to come visit our place listed in Home Exchange collection 3092144 “Casablanca on the bay” Beautiful bay home with a breathtaking view.

We’re new to this platform and have never rented or exchanged our home before. We have a lovely family from Canada staying at our house in March while we’re off exploring Spain.

I am seeking guidance on the appropriate method to invoice the $250 fee for the cleaning services of my residence to the guests scheduled to arrive from March 6th to March 13th.

You can only collect a cleaning fee once someone arrives not before so they can leave it or send it to you when they get there. Make sure it is listed in your listing and sometimes you have to review that point to make sure they saw it before finalizing.

Hello :slight_smile: There are certain rules around cleaning fees and what can and cannot be charged. Here is the relevant section in the FAQ :

The only fees allowed are checkout cleaning fees (or the tourist tax when it’s required for exchanges). We understand that it’s sometimes difficult to do home exchanges without some extra help (for example in second homes, the help of long-trusted people in charge of the home, etc).

In every case, the amount should be reasonable given the location of the home, the size, and the length of the stay. These fees must be clearly stated in the home description and discussed in the conversation between members, always before finalization of the exchange. We also recommend you to consider the option of splitting the fees between you and your partner.

Members are to find a way to pay the cleaning fees upon the guest’s arrival at the home, either by cash or a transfer (i.e. PayPal). These fees should not be paid prior to arrival.

Please note: Hosts cannot request a cleaning fee to prepare the home for a guest’s arrival.
