Portland summers are divine! Our house is a cozy two-story bungalow with all the necessities just 4 blocks from light rail. The garden is the best feature in spring and summer months and features a back deck, a fire pit, outdoor table, a swing, and a multitude of native plants. It is quiet in our little pocket neighborhood.
Portland is not to be missed, between world-class beer festivals, blooming rose gardens, a flurry of festivals and cultural events and quaint neighborhoods all a walk or light rail ride away. Switch to the car, drive 45 minutes east and you will find yourself in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge where waterfall hikes abound, or explore one of the hundreds of hikes around Mt. Hood (just over an hour drive).
