It’s in a pretty rural area on a river and it’s a 4 bedroom house. The only hotel also near the river (but no water access) is $200/night in winter and much more than that in summer.
I get your point – really! But let’s not paint everyone with the same brush
For 9 years, my husband and I shared our holiday home with guests without any cleaning fee. These days, we rent it out in summer to save up for improvements (without taking a loan), so we’ve added professional cleaning after each stay, and charge our HE guests a part of it during this period.
We’re true home exchangers at heart – we’ve just chosen to charge for cleaning help during a certain season of life. The same goes for our main home.
People have different needs, abilities and health conditions – some simply can’t manage cleaning themselves, and others prefer a certain standard. That doesn’t make anyone a bad exchanger – just different. And that’s what makes this community so great!
