I know there is a lot of controversy about cleaning fees. I get it. Sometimes people need one because they don’t live nearby. I don’t have one, but I’m not opposed to paying a reasonable one if needed. (I saw one for €500 the other day which is ridiculous) I can see the problem with a checkbox as it might encourage people (especially newcomers) to think they should ask for a cleaning fee.
What about a text box section under Title and Description for Cleaning Exceptions. There owners could be encouraged to list their expectations. Whether it’s a cleaning fee (and how much), just to put the dirty linens on the floor by the washer, or to leave the home exactly as found (including washing linens and putting them back on the bed).

I tried to vote for you but can’t. It is a good idea. It should be something like how do I leave the house?
I do wish people would vote for this as it something that HE can probably easily do that would not trigger the same response as a cleaning fees button. There is something for everyone to put in a how to leave the house section for clarity. If HE directs hosts to leave all cleaning fees in this section and someone does not put a cleaning fee that is easily scannable by the person looking for housing and for the HE people addressing any issues. I think people just think if they holler loud enough they will get that search button but it’s not happening, I am sure.
