We’re already receiving several exchange requests for next year (2027). I like to respond quickly, so if an exchange could work, I will often reply with “maybe” while we consider our plans.
The difficulty is keeping track of who has proposed which dates. It would be very useful to have a calendar view showing the dates of exchanges that are currently “under discussion”, with each proposed exchange linked to the relevant conversation.
For example, I could look at August 2027 and see that we have three possible exchanges being discussed for different dates. I could then open each conversation and decide which exchange best fits our plans.
HomeExchange already has a calendar for each listing showing availability and confirmed exchanges - perhaps proposed exchanges could also appear there.
Alternatively, for members with more than one home, there could be a calendar within the Messages section showing proposed dates across all their homes.
I am not sure which approach would work best, but the main feature I would find useful is one place where I can see all the dates currently being discussed and open the related conversations.
This would make “under discussion” exchanges much easier to manage, particularly for members receiving several requests well in advance.
