Welcome to the Forum Jesse  Wow what an amazing experience for someone! Best of luck with your search. A real adventure.

Hi Jesse,

What a great experience.

Generally for 1 year, a special visa to go to Australia or France is mandatory.
Do you have any information about this?

This is why many β€œlong-term” exchange are less than 90 days. It allows to exchange with a tourist visa.

Hi Nathalie,

Yes a visa is required to stay in Australian for this long.

I understand that French citizens can stay in Australia for up to 90 days on an eVisitor visa (subclass 651) or for up to 3, 6, or 12 months on a Visitor visa (subclass 600). I would be happy to discuss these options to facilitate the process.
Working visas are also available but age restrictions apply.

Saying this an exchange would be suitable for someone who can be self funded and not have the need to be employed in Australia.
I believe children can be enrolled into local schools if you hold one of the above visas or have Australian or New Zealand citizenship.

I’m an E.U. citizen.
