I am Rebekah, new to HE. We live in Asheville North Carolina in the Appalachian mountains. We are excited to be planning our first exchange, with homes and cars. Does anyone have experience with car swaps? ---

I have done a couple and they have worked well. Insurance companies don’t love hearing about them but you can use the same assumption if a friend was driving your car “If someone else is driving your car and another person causes the accident, **the at-fault driver’s insurance is usually responsible for covering costs**. On the other hand, if the driver of your car is at fault, your car insurance will usually cover damages.” ---

Yes, I researched this with my insurance company and they said we are covered for a temporary driver driving with our permission. Thanks for your reply! Very encouraging.
