Hi everyone, we are currently hosting a lovely family for a two-week exchange, but yesterday their teenage son asked for help because our router security blocked a mobile utility download. He was trying to troubleshoot an installation error while following instructions on a gaming page he uses back home, but our network firewall flagged the connection immediately.
Has anyone else run into similar issues where exchange guests encounter strict network filters or security blocks on their personal devices? I want to be accommodating and ensure they have full access during their stay, but I also worry about whether overriding these security protocols might leave our personal smart home setup vulnerable.
How do you typically manage router permissions or separate guest networks to prevent these kinds of access issues while keeping your home secure?
