Add checkbox and filter for cleaning fees

Why do people keep saying you wouldn’t charge a friend a cleaning fee so why should it be ok to charge a guest one?

I don’t understand.

  1. Guests are not friends although they could become friends.
  2. Do your friends give you the equivalent of hundreds to thousands of pounds worth of points when they come to stay?
  3. Do they give you their home in return when they come to stay?

I absolutely do not want a host to treat me as a friend I want them to treat me like a guest who has high standards

When my friend comes I put the vac on, wipe the surfaces and change the bedding. That’s the basics. When I host guests who are giving me valuable points or their home, I arrange for a full 6 to 8 hour proper clean in all 13 inside areas and all four outside areas plus all linen and bedding

These days I’d never stay anywhere that didn’t ask for a cleaning fee. Also I’d always leave the home nicely prepared for the cleaner to do a thorough job.

Still there’s room for us all which is why a cleaning fee filter would help. It’s a big pond. We can all swim in it.

I will say I have had people I loaned the house outside of HE (friends, acquaintances) ask me if I had a cleaner to recommend and were disappointed (years ago) when I didn’t. Now I do. It’s not just the points if you are not in the house with someone it is a completely different experience than having someone stay with you there. Our better friends like to come when we are there.
